The justice system deems their case as fatality without further investigation.  The bus companies protect these driver for wrong doing and aware them with their job and another chance of life as far these people… they do not get a second chance of life. LIFE IS PRECIOUS, YOU ONLY HAVE ONE.

  I am a white male and I knew this young man since he was seven years old. He was always careful, cautious and aware of his surroundings. Deshon running across Bay Street to catch bus is a crazy statement when he was already at the bus stop. How ridiculous is that? I shouldn't have to feel that way for no reason other than the fact that he has dark skin! The prosecutors are trying to cover for the county cut and dry. The prosecutor story do not make any dam since, I believe if it was a white boy the bus driver would have been in jail. I smell a racial Trayvon investigation case due to Deshon skin color. I do not understand why this man is not in jail. If someone just killed a person (no matter for what reason), they need to be arrested immediately. Justice needs be served. Hell with a plaque or a bench. There should be a street name in his honor plus more. He was such a warm spirit young man that impacted people of all ages in a positive way. His mother raised him up right.

There has been more than one death due to the neglegance of these bus drivers and it really has to stop.   Deshon was the kind of person who cared about others. Since he's passed, many people have shared their stories about a time when Deshon showed this uncommon care to them: that he took his time out to show someone how to skateboard, that he took his time out to listen to the music they made, or that he was a reliable friend. He was a hard-working son, and he was the kind of together but laid-back person that made him a unique and much-loved part of his community and peer group. He was talented with music, and had incredible potential in both life and music. His community feels the loss of the richness that was his personality every day, and I hope that, while he can't be brought back, things that appropriately honor his name and brightness can be done as the response to the tragedy he died in.

  I sign this petition because I believe something needs to be done against aggressive , careless and insensitive bus drivers who do not show concern for the well being of pedestrians. The fatality my sister is dealing with in the loss of my nephew could have been avoided if there was a law to make bus driver come to a complete stop at each bus stop, regardless if there's no one standing up flagging the bus down. Trains pull into stations regardless whether a passenger is getting off or on. They don't pass stations unless it's an express train. The bus that mauled down my nephew was not an express bus. he just neglected to come to a complete stop at the speed he was going when turning the corner. There need to be some type of legislature to regulate bus drivers from reckless and careless driving.

  This is important to me because justice had not been served and I am a parent. It is going on a year and the political figure is not doing anything about these alarming killing. I am in so much disbelief how the political figure is not acting on this case. I have been following this young man story from day one. I am an investigator and I am going to trying to help this mother out. I do not know this woman but I share the same attachment and emotion with her as a parent. No, parent should have to be treated like they are the criminal when the bus committed and criminal act. He killed an innocent young man and he get to walk free. How sicken that is that this bus driver is not held accountable for his action. This bus driver get to go back driving the bus and to his family. Deshon does not get to go back to work or his mother. How can the bus driver sleep at night or live with him self.

  Deshon was the homie, strictly. He was always a friendly face in my science class at Montclair High. The school wasn't really run by cliches, so we messed well. He was an aspiring hip-hop artist, also into demonstrating martial arts for the secular, non-combative portion of the regiment. I respected him for that and who he wasn't afraid to be; himself. That was years ago even afterward, he was always at the QuickChek no matter what time of the day; we'd ceremoniously dap each other, talk this and that. He'd always tell me and my boys about his new work being an artist; the spirit he had was inconceivable. I was really upset to hear the news. It really dampened my heart to know that he wouldn't be around town randomly. I enjoyed those small encounters. He was definitely a stepping stone that always surprised me and shown me that despite what's going on in societies changes; there's always a true homie with an upbeat demeanor and a heart of gold. Even though this accident affected a lot of peoples lives; it's more than an accident. I'm sure the driver didn't intentionally mean for this to happen but let's be real---Busses, NJ Transit and DeCamp alike, drive like mad-men up and down Bloomfield Avenue with no regards to anyone standing in their path. Most of em won't stop for you anymore -- and that's coming from someone who used to rely on such transportation primarily for daily use. The high-pressure nature of the job isn't an excuse to tearing essentially a town apart on some scale. Everyone knew who he was, everyone has probably chilled with him a few times in their life. The court system is entirely flawed considering just reading this page alone you see another scenario but with the driver brought up on charges. Either way, like all the other supporters; there has to be justice. Rest easy, my bruva D.

  This terrible accident. its sad and unfortunate that this happen. i live very close to where the accident happened and i shocked me. I always notice that nj transit bus drivers not only in bloomfield but in other areas drive extremely to fast and dont pay enough attention to there surroundings. if that bus driver wasent so quick to just get the job done this young man would still be alive. this breaks my heart knowing that this young black man who was smart, creative and destined to be great had his life snatched from him for someone else stupidity. i continue to pray for his mother and family and friends <3

  I am senior citizen who sometimes have to ride public transportation. I sympathize with this young man's family and friends in his tragic loss. Why this driver is not being held responsible for killing Deshon Johnson is beyond reality! I pray that Mrs. Johnson's bill will gather enough signatures. Also, may she be comforted in knowing that others care.

  I visit NY NY and Jersey City NJ a few times a year. We need safe operators to haul Passengers. Last Oct. 31 11 Megabus from Pittsburgh went far to fast between Pittsburgh Pa and NY NY in major snow ice strorm. Didn't think we would get to NY.

  My name is Jennifatu. I met Deshon through my friend James. He always had a caring heart, and he was talented with his music. It is important to me to stand up for Deshon because I feel like the community and I as a whole can stand up for what is right and stop this mess from ever occurring again. Deshon was a talented man and could have went really far if his life was not cut short. The importance of safe driving needs to be taken seriously and stressed more. So, here I am to support and to make sure that Deshon and his family get the support that they deserve.

    Because Deshon and Christie didn't deserve this and any of us could be next. My father was a bus driver and my step=father. This is not acceptable. A bus can be a weapon, and this is what happened. They were murdered!

    I AM A MOTHER, I FEEL SOME OF HER PAIN. THE 'SCALES' OF JUSTICE ARE EXTREMELY UNBALANCED, HAVE BEEN FOR A LONG TIME. THIS IS ANOTHER INSTANCE, THAT WAS CLEARLY NOT INVESTIGATED. CHARGES SHOULD HAVE BEEN RENDERED, THE BUS DRIVER WAS NEGLEGENT IN HIS JOB, AND IT COST A BEAUTIFUL PERSON'S LIFE. JUSTICE NEEDS TO BE SERVED, MS.
