Police: Wayne pedestrian survives being dragged more than a mile under NJ Transit bus

Breaking News. Thank you Sue for the article.
When are these killing/ bus drivers hitting pedestrian is going to stop with NJ Transit bus drivers. Another life is taken -n- another MURDER is going to get away with killing a person. NJ Transit is going to cover up this death AND deem it as an accident like Deshon Johnson. Once again another parent is in pain. There should be a major protest at NJ Transit company because they support murders.

WAYNE — A township man struck by a bus and dragged along Route 23 for more than a mile was rescued after a police officer spotted his dangling legs. The man was recovering from his injuries on Wednesday.
Seres Arpad, 60, was conscious and alert when rescued, police Capt. Mark McGrath said. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson with non-life threatening injuries and was doing well, police said.
But Arpad’s dog, Ocean, who was with him, was killed.
Police received a call just before 6 p.m. Tuesday that an NJ Transit bus may have hit a dog at the Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center. A second caller said there was a person stuck beneath the bus, McGrath said. Officer Tom Cydzik saw the man’s legs beneath the bus as it traveled Route 23 north, and police stopped it at Alps Road, McGrath said. The First Aid Squad and the Fire Department rescued Arpad.
"He's going to be devastated about his dog," said Christine Yetman, manager of a store below Arpad’s apartment. "That was, like, his kid."
No charges or summonses have been filed against the driver, but NJ Transit spokeswoman Nancy Snyder said the investigation continues. The driver didn’t realize he had struck Arpad, she said.
There were 58 riders on the bus, traveling the 194 line from Wayne to the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
Anyone with information is asked to call NJ Transit police at 973-378-6565.
