In July of 2012 Coach USA bus driver Wilson Romaine decided to make a series of poor decisions while on-duty. As a bus driver, they supposed to be more conscious and aware of their surroundings for innocent citizen, pedestrian and potential passengers. Bus drivers supposed to make sure their mirrors are set right to prevent any accidents or demise of innocent people. Some of these bus drivers break all kinds of driving law, such as curb radius turn. Some of these bus driver also breaks all kinds of driving law, such as curb radius turn, breaks federal regulations commonly known as 10 hour rule and 15 hour rule. The 10 hour rule prohibits bus drivers from driving for more than 10 consecutive hours, after which a bus drive must take an eight-hour break. A bus driver should not be driving while on any medication that cause poor driving judgment. No talking or texting on the phone while driving. Mr. Romaine was on heart medication while operating NJ Transit bus 709.

On that fateful day in 2012 he violated the driving law and more importantly the trust of not only the pedestrian of New Jersey but the safety of an innocent life. Romaine CHOOSE to drive his NJ Transit bus recklessly as he jumped the curb of Broad  and Bay where passenger Deshon Johnson stood trying to get the bus driver to stop. A second before turning the corner Romaine knocks Mr. Johnson down dragging him to his demise. He fails to check his mirror and take other safety precaution to prevent the demise of this 22 year old remarkable Montclair resident man.

Wilson Romaine poor decisions not only killed 22 year old Deshon Johnson he indirectly ended Deshon’s disable mother’s life by taken her only son who care for her. The most disturbing thing in the case was this is not the bus driver first major incident. He showed a pattern of endangering citizens during his whole career as a bus driver.

To this day Romaine has never attempted to offer a true condolence to Deshon’s mother but he has never publically taken responsibility for his deaths. Romaine was let off the hook with relatively little punishment (no jail time) and he needs to have a constant reminder of the impact he has had on many people. His attorney and Essex County Prosecutor Detective recently made statements that Romaine did not do anything wrong by ending Deshon’s life and gave the bus driver his license back the same day he murder Deshon. Also, NJ Transit lawyer who represented Romaine fabricated by making a statement that the bus driver has a clean record.

By the poor gesture/message of the detective and attorney they are indirectly telling Romaine he just needs to get on with his life and have him to believe he did not do anything wrong and it is okay to put passenger in harms way driving with a bad driving record. Why should he be afforded the opportunity to live a normal life when Deshon’s mother will have to live with pain for the rest of her life?
Please take this petition into account when making a decision http://www.change.org/petitions/stop-reckless-aggressive-and-rude-bus-drivers-from-carelessly-taking-young-innocent-lives-like-deshon-johnson. You will see that the names on the petition are just not citizens from New Jersey, but from citizens and public safety officials from all over the country. Do what is right and deny Wilson Romaine and others like him the opportunity to ever endanger the good people of New Jersey and around the world again. In Essex County along there have been 55 reckless bus driving killing in 2012 and 55 more plus to come because there is no corrective actions or punishment giving to these individual ending innocent lives.
Bus drivers are required to apply for special drivers’ licenses and to undergo extensive training before being trusted to operate a bus without supervision. Unfortunately, even with this training, some bus drivers fail to obey the laws of the road and to uphold the highest standards of safety for their passengers and for others out on the road.
When bus drivers drive recklessly and without the safety of passengers and motorists in mind, they can cause serious incidents. Bus drivers have a basic responsibility to keep all passengers safe and be aware of pedestrian while operating a large vehicle. Sadly, some drivers do not inhere to the law and neglect this duty and, as a result, people get hurt or killed. Common errors bus drivers make that can result in serious incidents like reckless or inattentive driving, speeding, turning close to the curb where pedestrians are, failure to check mirrors/ blind spots, failure to signal turns or lane changes, erratic breaking, failure to adapt driving habits for severe weather and driving under influence of prescription medication.
The majority of these fatality actions the police and prosecutor are trying to say they are caused by the innocent pedestrian. However, it is all too frequently the case that the negligent behavior of a bus driver is to blame. If you or a loved one has been injured or a victim involving a negligent behavior of a bus driver is to blame. Please contact Ms.Johnson at soulality@gmail.com or PO BOX 202 Glenridge NJ 07028 to help bring awareness and fight to change laws that make reckless bus drivers be held accountable for their actions. We can fight together  to put an end to the cold hearten injustice reaction towards our loved ones taken from us and the corruption/ death case cover ups for state run bus companies.

On September 30, 2014 we are going to have a peace walk for Deshon Johnson and others who have been a victim of cruel injustice action. We can be their voice since they are not here to advocate for themselves.

Should anyone will like to volunteer please contact Naomi at the above information?
